No wheat means more birds and fewer pigeons.

It's a 100% wheat-free, premium wild bird seed mix at an everyday price.

What does premium economy mean? In this case, it means high-quality and yet affordable bird food. At this price, wheat-free is almost unheard of. No wheat means fewer Pigeons, which means MORE bird food for the smaller garden birds! The inclusion of Black Sunflower and millet makes it especially popular when fed from seed feeders where it can also attract finches, tits and hopefully lots of House Sparrows as their numbers have declined by nearly 71% since 1977, according to BTO statistics.

Key Ingredients: Black Sunflower, Millet, Sunflower Hearts.

Update on previous review of this product

I have previously reported on this seed mix containing too much millet seed, this being left uneaten by all birds. Now after going through nearly all of a 12.75 kg bag I have found another problem with the mix. Every day I put out seed on the feeder table. Now I have left each day, not only millet seed but thousands of what appears to be, small white sunflower seeds in their husks. Nothing eats them and I have to bin them all. All the black sunflower seeds are eaten, so I will no longer buy this seed mix. In fact, I have now started purchasing my winter wild bird seed from another supplier. In the past I have on many occasions purchased and been very happy with Haith's seed mixes, but something has un fortunately changed with Haith's winter mixes.

Hello David, thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We can see from your account that previously you ordered Original Wild Bird Food. This may be why you have noticed a difference in your latest order. We will pass your comments regarding the millet on to the relevant team. If we can be of any further help, please email us at enquiries@haiths.com

Problem Millet

All the wild bird foods, for me have one problem. After most food is eaten. I'm left with piles of millet. These seeds just don't get eaten. I have all kinds of garden birds at my table and feeder, Sparrows, Dunnocks, Great and Blue ****, Robins, Gold and Greenfinches, Blackbirds, Jackdaws and sometimes Reed buntings and other odd species. But I'm always left with piles of millet. Even using, No waste Sunflower hearts is no better. Goldfinches just peck out the middle of the seed and the ends of the hearts fall to the ground and if not cleared up straight away, attract vermin.

Hi David, many thanks for your review. Fallen seeds can be a problem if not eaten by ground feeding birds. We would recommend trying a feeder that has an optional tray. The Ring Pull Seed Feeder https://haiths.com/products/ring-pull-seed-feeder and tray https://haiths.com/products/ring-pull-feeder-tray?_pos=2&_psq=tray&_ss=e&_v=1.0 would help any leftover seed falling to the ground.

Gone in a flash

Doesn't last long in our garden! Goes twice as fast as the other mixes.

Hello, thank you for your review. It is great to hear that this mix is popular in your garden.

Popular with grond feeders

Works well with blackbird, robins and other ground feeders. Not so popular with birds using seed feeders, who prefer straight sunflower seed

Hello Eric, thank you for your review. It's great to hear your feedback on this popular mix.

Good value

The birds love this seed they eat the big seeds first and later come back for the smaller seeds, thus eating the lot.

Hello Alison, thank you for this review. It's wonderful that this mix is well enjoyed by the birds in your garden.
