    Give every ingredient a job. Structure, binding, food value, texture or signature.

    Start with percentages. A recorded formula can be scaled and repeated.

    Grind where necessary. Coarse birdfoods may need reducing before they will roll cleanly.

    Test a small batch. Check the paste, rolling, boiling and finished texture before scaling up.
