A more natural-looking red. These mixes now feature Robin Red® with natural colouring foods. You may notice that the finished colour is less “blood red” and more of a natural rust-brown.

Rust-brown is intentional. Natural colouring foods can create a subtler rust-brown finish rather than an artificial-looking blood red.

BASE MIX FAQs

Do all six products contain Robin Red®?

Yes. Every product in this collection features Robin Red®, although the wider recipe, texture and intended role differ between products.

Why are some mixes more rust-brown than bright red?

The range now uses Robin Red® with natural colouring foods. This can produce a more natural rust-brown appearance rather than the stronger blood-red colour associated with earlier formulations.

Is Ready Mix™ a cheaper Robin Red® substitute?

No. Ready Mix™ contains a proportion of Robin Red®, but it is a distinct ingredient with its own composition, smell, taste and role in bait formulation.

Can these products be used in the same way?

No. Some are highly versatile multi-purpose blends, while others are chosen for binding, texture, spice, birdfood or marine character. Check the individual product page before formulating.
