Haith's Simon King Named Department for International Trade Export Champion

Haith's Baits accept an invitation to become a #NPHExportChamp to encourage others to consider growing their international business through exporting.

Export Champions
The invitation from Mark Robson, Yorkshire and Humber Regional Director - Department for International Trade (DIT) - was to recognise Haith's contribution 'to the economic growth of the region by exporting' and because the company has historically been 'prepared to encourage others to grow their international business through exporting.'

The Export Champions programme was first launched in the North West in 2013 and has since gone from strength to strength with more businesses joining each year. This is the first year Champions have been chosen, however, to represent the Humber.

"We're very happy to share what we know," says Haith's associate director, Simon King. "The Brexit vote has been cast, but that doesn't mean we should turn our back on Europe. We, of course, will aim to explore new markets and collaborate with partners wherever they are in the World; however, our plans are simple: we'll continue to supply ingredients of the highest quality and deliver a service second to none, and we'll double our efforts to make sure our ingredients work for our European business partners and the anglers who put their faith in Haith's."

“With the help of government advisors at DIT, we’ve managed to cast our net over new markets and strengthen performance in existing markets to catch growing demand," explains Simon. "So, it seems only fair that we give something back to those who'd like to do the same and launch successful international offerings."

"It's teamwork that's made our international channel work. We're lucky enough to have in the business people who really care about the brand and they take nothing for granted. They all go out of their way to keep Haith's ingredients fresh, safe and relevant to what can only be described as a competitive and ever-changing global market. The Haith's team are all Champions."

Firms looking for support from DIT should contact 0300 365 1000 or email yorkshire@mobile.trade.gov.uk. They can also visit great.gov.uk, which gives UK businesses access to millions of pounds’ worth of potential overseas business, helping them start or increase exporting.
