At Haith's, the health and well-being of birds remain our top priority. Following the RSPB's recent announcement on the potential risks allegedly associated with window feeders (8th January 2025), we have taken the precautionary step of removing window feeders from sale.

This decision aligns with the RSPB's precautionary approach as they review the latest scientific findings on disease transmission among garden birds. Our veterinary advisor has reached out to the RSPB to gain further insights into their findings, which will help inform our future decisions.

Haith's (and the RSPB) encourage bird enthusiasts to consider alternative feeding methods, such as using hanging feeders or ground feeding when done responsibly. Maintaining hygiene is essential - clean your feeders regularly with a wildlife-safe disinfectant and ensure that only clean, high-quality bird food is offered to avoid harm to your feathered visitors.
