Find out more about the Willow Tit

Willow Tit

Very similar in looks to the Marsh Tit, unfortunately in fast decline. Can be found in damp woodlands, hedges and, thickets in England, Wales and southern Scotland.

Willow Tit
The Willow Tit makes its own nest holes, which is why it prefers damp areas with rotting wood. However, it may use a nest box that is suitable for a Blue Tit.

Usually forages on the ground looking for spiders, insects, and berries but will come to a garden bird table for seeds and peanuts.

Its plumage is very similar to a Marsh Tit but is slightly more bull-necked, with a dull black crown and a larger black bib.
