Daniel’s Kitchen CIC and Haith’s Naturespace Join Forces for a Greener Future
Louth, Lincolnshire – 19th March 2025
A new community-led initiative is taking root at Haith’s Naturespace as Daniel’s
Kitchen CIC officially begins its first gardening project on-site. The
inaugural session, taking place today (19th March 2025), marks the start of a powerful partnership aimed at fostering sustainability, well-being, and community development through horticulture – headed up by Martin Woods, former Head Gardener to The Royal Family.

Daniel’s Kitchen CIC (danielskitchen.org.uk), known for its dedication to supporting individuals facing challenges such as food insecurity and social isolation, is teaming up with Naturespace at Haith’s Bird Food (haiths.com) to transform a section of land into a thriving hub for learning, nature and food production. This exciting initiative will provide supervised opportunities for individuals of all backgrounds to gain hands-on experience in horticulture while benefiting from the mental and physical health advantages of working outdoors.
“We believe that engaging with nature is essential not just for the environment but
for our well-being and sense of community,” said Hannah Woods, representing Daniel’s Kitchen CIC. “Partnering with Haith’s Naturespace allows us to expand our mission and give people the chance to learn new skills while making a real difference.”

The designated area at the Haith’s Bird Food Centre on Louth’s Fairfield Industrial Estate will be developed into a series of cultivated beds, ideal for growing food crops, flowers, and trees. Plans also include a dedicated space for beehives, fruit trees and a composting area – further promoting biodiversity and sustainability. This collaboration will also serve as an educational resource, hosting workshops on soil health, propagation techniques, seasonal planting, and sustainable growing practices.

Haith’s will provide the site’s infrastructure, including access to facilities such as toilets, a classroom space, and parking. In return, Daniel’s Kitchen CIC will bring its established community support framework and team of experienced volunteers. Funding for materials, equipment, and events will be sought through grants and donations.
“This is a shining example of how businesses and community organisations can come together to create lasting impact,” said Simon King, Director for Haith’s. “By integrating green spaces into our environment, we’re improving biodiversity and building stronger, healthier communities,” explains Rachael Haith, Director.

The first official gardening session at Haith’s Naturespace takes place today. Participants from Daniel’s Kitchen CIC are rolling up their sleeves to begin work on the site.
