At Haith’s, we believe all wildlife feeding should be approached thoughtfully and responsibly. Live foods such as mealworms/waxworms should be stored, handled, and used with care and respect, both for the birds they support and for the welfare of the invertebrates themselves.
Highly nutritious and adored by all insect-eating wildlife.
Larvae of the wax moth, Waxworms are fed delicious nutrients such as honey and wheat germ. Highly nutritious with soft skins, Waxworms can provide a very important source of nutritious food - especially for fledglings. Can be stored at room temperature; however, we find they last longer stored in a cool garage or even in the fridge!
Waxworms are delivered (by Royal Mail/Courier) separately from seed orders, to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. If you're worried about feeding live waxworms, why not try dried mealworms? Please note we only dispatch live foods to UK mainland.
NB. As all live foods are delivered by Royal Mail/Courier, we are unable to accept delivery instructions (i.e. if out, please leave in the shed, etc.).
