Pinhead Oatmeal for fishing
Great when used as part of a particle blend, but can also be used on its own.
This often ignored (wrongly!) ingredient is great when used as part of a particle blend, but can also be used on its own. This ingredient is also known as Scots Oats and is often associated with porridge. It is great when used as part of a particle blend, but can also be used on its own. It also quite filling, so take care not to over feed.
Prepare by soaking overnight in just enough water to cover the bait – again flavour and sweetener can be used – and then bring to a boil. As soon as the pan has boiled, remove from the heat and allow to cool in the water in which they have been soaked and cooked. As they do so they will absorb much of the liquid. (Take care not to let the bait burn.)
Pinhead Oatmeal is ideally suited to margin fishing but, if greater range is required, we recommend you blend in sufficient SuperRed to stiffen the oatmeal so that it can be formed into ground bait balls.
