Friends who feed blackbirds raisins are always talking how much they like them. I'd tried before without much success but I thought I'd try again. No - they still didn't like them. Then a friend told me her secret! Raisins can be quite tough. She cuts them in half before feeding. This makes them much easier for the birds to manage. It does not take long to cut up a tablespoonful of raisins. I use kitchen scissors. Result.

Raisins are excellent ground feed as it has been so dry and the ground so hard for the birds.
