Sunflower Hearts Feeder

The black sunflower hearts are a little bit too small as are the original sunflower seeds and they slip through the feeder, guessing it's because of the hot weather shrinking the seeds. Feeder is good apart from that

Good quality, clean and fresh. The gold finches and green finches love them and often quarrel about places on the feeder. The birds can’t talk but by the short time it takes them to empty the feeder I think they say it in their own way.

Since buying and siting my Sunflower feeder there has been a huge increase in footfall (or rather Clawfall) in the garden. Our feeder now reminds me of a fast food outlet on the Motorway ! Ceaseless array of birds passing through. May need to remortgage the house as getting through an amazing amount of seeds these days ! A great bit of kit. Even better as the pesky Squirrels can’t get on with this model. Highly recommend…

Best feeder ever for sunflower hearts - prevents bigger birds
from taking everything and stops pigeons from flying up and knocking food out to the ground.
I have got 2 of these now and am well pleased with them - greenfinches, goldfinches and the tit family stay around longer which is lovely to watch.

"The feeder seems to be well made and quite a good looking product but is not nearly as popular with the birds as the traditional perch and peck type with 4 perches and holes. The only time 'my' birds use it is when the other feeders are empty"

"Good points - its very well made and easy to clean as the base comes out via a spring loaded clip. Bad points - you lose A LOT of hearts when filling it and in windy conditions as they fall out of the sides at all angles, I ordered a the pastic tray on this site to catch the excess but it's not compatible and....the goldinches in my garden won't go near it and the other birds aren't v interested either.I use it now for suet pellets and in the spring put nesting materials in there which the blue tits took but none of the birds seem too keen on it for some reason"

"The lady who said that goldfinches did not go for her niger seed was quite right. Since using the sunflower hearts seed feeder I have the goldfinches back they don't touch the niger seed"

"I HAVE ALWAYS HAD A PROBLEM WITH TUBE FEEDERS BLOCKING WHEN SUNFLOWER HEARTS GOT DAMP. WHERE I LIVE WE GET OUR FAIR SHARE OF WET WEATHER AND THE RESULT IS BLOCKED FEEDERS. WITH THIS FEEDER THERE NO SUCH PROBLEM. THE BIRDS ARE ABLE TO COMPLETELY EMPTY THIS FEEDER AND BLOCKED FEEDERS ARE A THING OF THE PAST."

"I have several of these in my garden and the Goldfinches and small birds love them. It took a time for them to get used to them (about three weeks) but we discovered a tray that is compatible it works a treat and the birds often sit in the tray to eat as well as swarming all over the feeder. Only trouble is the Collared Doves and Wood Pigeons have learnt to balance on the tray and gobble up the seeds also spilling lots on the floor. although ground feeding birds clear it all up soon enough."
