Collection: Goldcrest Bird Food

Found all over Britain the Goldcrest is the UK’s tiniest bird. It's usually found in coniferous gardens, hedgerows, and woods. A very active and tame bird, it will flit from branch to branch searching for insects and spiders. The Goldcrest will happily visit a bird table; however, they're especially fond of suet when it's hanging from a branch. This style of feeding seems to be more in-keeping with their natural foraging behaviour.

The Goldcrest makes a beautiful nest in the thick foliage of coniferous trees; suspended from a branch, the Goldcrest makes a ball of moss lined with feathers, all held together by spiders' webs.

In appearance, they're a dull greyish-green bird with a pale belly and a black and yellow stripe on their heads, which has an orange centre on males. Their thin beak is ideally suited for picking insects out from between pine needles.
