Collection: Great Tit Bird Products

The range of the Great Tit extends from Britain in the west through Europe and Asia as far as Java and the Lesser Sundas in Indonesia. The British race is recognised by its glossy black crown and pure white cheeks with a black band down the centre of its yellow underparts. The race in the Lesser Sundas appears a lot different having the yellow colouration replaced by light grey.

This is the largest of the tit family found in Britain and it is quite obvious when seen in mixed flocks with other tits. Not only do they forage together through the tree canopy, but they can also often be seen on the ground or in low undergrowth searching out invertebrate food.

Great Tits are quite bold coming to the bird table and feeders, particularly through the winter months. They are fond of peanuts and black sunflower seed and will also take mealworms when feeding young. Fat Balls are another attraction as are Haith's Prosecto Insectivorous Mix and Haith's Golden Chorus.

Great Tits require closed in nest boxes with a 32mm (1¼") diameter entrance hole.
