I've been using this in 3 feeders for years now ...

Spuggies seem to like it and the occasional ****. It does clog a bit in the bottom of the tube feeders but I think that's the feeders' fault letting some rain in.

Hello Barry, many thanks for your review and for your continued use of our product over the years. Clogging can sometimes happen if moisture gets into feeders, as you mentioned. Ensuring they are well-sheltered from rain or using feeders with better drainage can help. If you have any further questions or need advice, please feel free to contact us at enquiries@haiths.com.

Husk free birdseed

I buy this bird food mix every time. The garden birds feed from the feeders three times a day. I have to refill the feeders every morning. I have three x 4 port feeders. The amount of garden birds is noticeably increasing. The pigeons get the same seed in their own area. I get about 30 come to feed, then they fly off until the next day. I didn't realise they have amazing plumage colours. I just LOVE having all these birds in the garden. It's a delight. And it's THE HUSK FREE MIX. Thank you

Hello Kathryn, thank you for your review. It is great that you are noticing an increase in garden birds while feeding the Huskfree Advance Mix. Fantastic news!

Product Review of Huskfree Advance™ with Mealworms - Ultimate Mess-Free Mix

20+ House sparrows find this a great feeder-product and starlings too. The steady "fall rate" attracts a range of ground-feeding garden birds, robin, blackbird, dunnock, collared dove etc. and regular jackdaws. One ingredient, a fine round light-coloured seed, is unpopular and almost always left in feeding trays. I do tip it onto a path and something eventually takes it - wagtails perhaps - they do take crumbs. Our resident birds just ain't keen. I wonder what it is? Hope that's helpful. All the best. Roger

Hello Roger, thank you for your email. That is great that you have lots of birds coming into your garden, the light coloured seed is called Pinhead Oatmeal.

Birds Love it

A great favourite of the birds, only problem is there is growth from the seeds which end up on the ground. Wouldn’t be a problem if bird feeders were on the lawn but they are in the trees to try and deter the sparrow hawks. The birds here are very messy/fussy eaters which means a lot of seed on the ground, so end up digging up every couple of weeks and throwing on the lawn where the pigeons eat it.

Hello Cheryl, many thanks for your message. We are pleased to hear this mix is a favourite with your garden birds. It is one of our most popular mixes. We do have a range of feeder that has an optional tray to attach to the bottom of the feeder, this may help. The link to the feeder is https://haiths.com/products/ring-pull-seed-feeder?variant=42290119049461 and the link to the tray is https://haiths.com/products/ring-pull-feeder-tray

Excellent

Sparrows, starlings, jackdaws, rooks all compete in a daily blitzkrieg on a four perch feeder whose contents barely last the day. A most effective food.

Hello David, many thanks for your review. We are pleased to hear that the mix works so well in your garden.

The importance of huskfree food: A cleaner, healthier choice for birds

Choosing husk-free bird food like our Huskfree Advance with Dried Mealworms brings multiple benefits for both the birds and your garden environment. It significantly reduces the risk of choking hazards for birds, as husks can be difficult for some smaller species to manage. Secondly, husk-free food is often more digestible, ensuring that birds can easily access and utilise the full nutritional value of each seed.

  • Environmental benefits of feeding Huskfree Advance with Dried Mealworms

Choosing our bird food means supporting a cleaner and greener environment. Its 100% edible nature reduces waste, while the absence of husks prevents unwanted germination, keeping your garden and feeding areas pristine.

  • Best practices for storing Huskfree Advance with Dried Mealworms

To maintain the freshness and nutritional value of the bird food, store it in a cool, dry place, ideally in an airtight container. This practice helps prolong its shelf life and ensures your birds always get the best quality feed.

How do dried mealworms enhance bird health in Huskfree Advance?

Dried mealworms in our Huskfree Advance formula offer a significant protein boost, crucial for bird growth, feather health, and overall vitality. This makes our blend particularly beneficial during the demanding breeding and moulting seasons.
