Collection: Jackdaw bird foods

The Jackdaw has adapted to both town and country life and is found throughout the British Isles. In size it is smaller than its black cousins, the Crows and Rooks, but larger than the Blackbird. Overall it has dark grey to black plumage with a contrasting grey nape. It is a colonial breeder nesting in remote cliffs and hollow trees but is also found in old buildings particularly in redundant chimney stacks. It feeds in country fields often in the company of Rooks, Crows and Starlings but will also come to suburban gardens and parkland taking bird food off the ground when the weather is bad. Although not common it has been seen to hang on nut feeders when the ground is snow-covered.

Haith's Wild Bird Food and Haith's seed mixtures are generally very attractive to this species when spread on the ground during hard weather.
