To help feed hens and during the moult, wise bird breeders use Haith's Easisoak Seed. Why? Because life's more manageable with Easisoak.

During the breeding season (and the moult) Easisoak is an invaluable nutritive bird diet for Canaries, British Birds, Hybrids and Budgerigars (read this for budgies). All the seeds in Easisoak are selected for their germinating ability and suitability for soaking. A great help to bird breeders!

Prepare only as much as is required daily and discard uneaten remains each evening to prevent potential moulds from harming the birds.

The reason for soaking seed is to assist the young bird to digest it more easily and, of course, the sprouted seed is at its most nutritional. If you require sprouted seeds, they will not sprout in water it must have air to give them the oxygen to grow, this is best done in a proper seed sprouter/germinator or in a propagator.

Directions for use:

  • Use enough seed to last for no more than three days
  • Thoroughly rinse the seed in clean water before allowing it to drain
  • Add warm water and soak for eighteen hours, keep the seed covered with a damp cloth in a warm place
  • For safe serving, we recommend sterilising newly sprouted seed by soaking it in a solution of 10ml Milton sterilising fluid to 1 litre of water for 5 minutes, then rinsing thoroughly with fresh water.
  • Change water by rinsing seed in a sieve - it is then ready for feeding
  • Rinse before each feed

Followed the instructions on your website I found

Followed the instructions on your website I found it was a bit of a long process, but I done it gave some to my budgies and they never touched it so of course had to throw it away. I will try again but I’ve a feeling there not going to eat it so I doubt I’ll order anymore.

Hello, we're sorry to hear that your budgies didn't enjoy our Easisoak Seed™. We understand that the sprouting process can be a bit time consuming, but we assure you that the end result is worth it. We recommend trying again and perhaps introducing the seed gradually to your birds to encourage them to try it slowly. Thank you for your feedback.

Easisoak seed.

The birds absolutely love it. Get a couple of mason jars with a mesh lid. So easy to soak and rinse. The birds nearest my preparation bench go mental when they see me spooning it into their dishes.

Hi James, many thanks for your great review.

Easysoak Seed

I’m not impressed with easysoak . When soaked it does not bulk up like some of the other brands , there does not seem to be the variety of seed that’s in other brands. Some brands have mung beans in. them yours does not . Find that I have to soak more of the seed compared to other brands to give the birds what’s required. Expensive in comparison with other quality brands. Good service though I will say that.

Hello Chris, thank you for your review. I am sorry that you are unhappy with our Easisoak Seed™. If you would like to dicuss this further, please email enquiries@haiths.com and we will be happy to help.
