Collection: Mistle Thrush Food & Bird Products

The Mistle Thrush is the largest of the thrush family found in Britain. It is mainly grey-brown and has larger breast spots than the Song Thrush and white tips to the outer-tail feathers. It prefers a woodland habitat or parks and gardens with scattered trees, but sometimes can be found in rough landscapes with adequate cover. It is very timid and wary of humans and spends much of its time out of the breeding season on open fields or pastures along with other thrushes.

Like other thrushes, its main diet consists of invertebrates such as worms, molluscs and insects but it will occasionally join in with Fieldfares and Blackbirds to consume fallen fruit - try our Fat Robin recipe - especially during hard winters. During cold weather, especially when the ground is snow-covered it will take the food we provide as ground-feed in our gardens. Haith's Prosecto Insectivorous Mix and Golden Chorus are obvious choices but even Haith's Wild Bird Food could be accepted in prolonged spells of bad weather.
