As previously mentioned, suet can be purchased in a range of shapes and sizes. A popular product in our brochure is Fat Feasts. These square blocks of suet are manufactured to provide high levels of nutrition and are suitable for all year round feeding. They can be fed whole on a bird table, broken up into pieces on the ground or put into a suet feast feeder.
The plastic Flick ‘n’ Click Double Suet Treat Holder is made for holding up to two fat feast blocks and has a lid which clicks firmly into place.
Many garden birds that are attracted to suet are usually the ones that like to feed in trees such as nuthatches, and woodpeckers. Therefore, by putting a suet feeder near, under, or in a tree is the best position. Out of direct sunlight would be our best advice.
Suet has many benefits not only for birds but also for you too. It’s fully consumable, which means no waste, its attractive to a diverse range of garden birds, it’s extremely versatile, can be fed all year round and perhaps best of all, it’s affordable. The best way is to buy in bulk, as you’ll be saving money and you’ll be set up for a few weeks.
So, if you’re new to bird feeding and are unsure as to whether to start feeding suet then we say give it a go! You and your garden birds won’t be disappointed.
